Publisher's Description:

NutriGenie Omega 3 Counter - The perfect companion software to the following publications:
The Omega-3 Connection: The Groundbreaking Anti-depression Diet and Brain Program by Andrew L. Stoll, M.D., Director of the Psychopharmacology Research Lab at Boston's McLean Hospital and assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School
The Omega Plan: The Medically Proven Diet That Restores Your Body's Essential Nutritional Balance by Artemis Simopoulos, M.D., nutritional adviser to the Office of Consumer Affairs at the White House.
Excerpts from Amazon.com's Editorial Reviews of the Omega-3 Connection:
"Stoll suggests that restoring our body's natural balance of omega-3s may help alleviate (and prevent) many types of depression--even for those who don't respond to traditional antidepressants. Omega-3s may also prove helpful with other problems, such as the inability to handle stress, memory loss, and cognitive decline.
A must-read for anyone dealing with depression, The Omega-3 Connection by Andrew L. Stoll, M.D., strikes yet another blow against the standard American diet. We already know that years of noshing on highly processed foods have saddled us with sky-high rates of heart disease, obesity, and related conditions. But, as we're starting to understand now, our eating habits may also be subtly altering our brain chemistry, leaving us vulnerable to anxiety disorders and depression. Only in this case, it's not just what we're eating--it's what we're not eating: foods containing omega-3 essential fatty acids--the 'good fats' that help maintain optimal brain function.

Stoll found that Omega-3 acids, already known for their importance in preventing heart disease and cancer, play a crucial role in mental health -- regulating and enhancing mood, sharpening memory, and even aiding concentration and learning. This substance, so essential to our health is often depleted by our Western diet and lifestyle.

don't like it 2006-11-29 07:56:31
Version: 3.4

it appears way too rudimentary

I use myfooddiary.com to chronicle all of my other nutrition information. it's more professional looking, is easier to use. your free version titles didn't correspond with the actual foods i was looking at (Legumes would have a list of meats instead of legumes).

i think you need to put more money into this program to make it look better. It'a also hard to know how well one is doing in accumulating the requisite # of nutrients. I was looking for Omega-3 counters, and couldn't get a gauge of how much was enough.

Checkout myfooddiary.com and see how they do it...
